![]() | Problem: mini tones/ringtones not playing for every call I installed mini tones and added ringtones. No problem doing that. I set all incoming calls to the same ringtone. For certain numbers, the ringtone plays when a call is received. For others I get the old ATT ringtone. There's no pattern to why certain calls don't play the mp3 ringtone I selected. Some in my address book work and some don't. A call from one number not in my address book worked fine. I changed to a different mp3 ringtone and it didn't change anything. If I assign a certain mp3 ringtone to a number, it works even though that same number wasn't playing my mp3 ringtone when I had it set to play for all known and unknown calls. Sorry this is so long. I hope this makes sense. I don't want to have to assign a rington to everyone in my address book separately and shouldn't have to. Any ideas on why I'm having this problem? Thanks for all advice and help. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ok, just so we're clear, it plays totally at random? Any difference between known and unknown callers?

For example, my mom and dad's numbers are both in my address book. When my mom calls the MP3 ringtone I chose plays, but when my dad calls it only plays the factory-set ATT ringtone. This stayed consistent. When I called from my home number that's not in my address book, the MP3 played consistently. When I went to my dad's profile and gave him a specific MP3 ringtone, it worked fine then. That makes me think the ringtones are working, but not working like I want them to though. My known callers and unknown callers are set to play MP3s. Even my Roam is set to play a MP3. Hopefully this makes more sense. I edited these MP3s with Ringtone Ripper, then added them to mini tones. I'll try to work with it more today and if I get it I'll post it here. Any advice or help is much appreciated though. | |

![]() | Check your individual contacts to see if they have any ringtones assigned to them or if they are set to the Default system ringer. It could be that your contacts have individual rings assigned to them and are set to a system ringtone. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | When you create a new contact, it should just default to the known contact ring.

![]() | New contacts show 'default' for the ringtone, but it's not always playing the 'known caller' ringtone when they call. The ringtones play fine when I test them myself, but for certain numbers they don't play. I get the Cingular ringtone instead. Any suggestions? |

![]() | No. That's the weird thing. For some numbers it works fine and for some it doesn't. I can't see any pattern and I've tried swapping ringtones and anything else I can think of. My setup looks similar to this: Known: MP3-1 Unknown: MP3-2 Roam: MP3-3 Sometimes I'll make known and unknown the same. Sometimes I make them all different. For the numbers it works with it works everytime. For the numbers it doesn't work with it always plays the Cingular ringtone. Doesn't matter if it's a cell phone caller or from a landline. Doesn't matter if the numbers are in my address book or not. There's no pattern that I can see. |
