not exactly - if it works correctly. Using the SD method does erase all data - a simple restore via reset doctor brought everything back. I only used that method because it wouldn't work via PC. It lost the usb connection during every reset and I'd have to start over...so I tried a different route.

Not sure if my battery life has improved or not. My phone has been off the charger for 5 hours. Some internet activity and emails checks and the battery is now at 88%. That might be a little improvement from before but it's hard to tell.

I'm thinking the update is only for Cingular phones because their proprietary software caused many of the issues experienced by users of locked phones.

The top left of the phone screen switched to AT&T several days before I got the text message from Cingular about the upgrade.

I downloaded the upgrade and installed it. It took about 20 minutes to upgrade. The only problem I found was with Google Maps, it would do a soft reset when I clicked on it. I downloaded the latest version from Google, deleted it from the Treo and installed the new version. It now works as it should. So far that is the only application that didn't work after the upgrade.

I downloaded and installed the new update. It now freezes when I hotsync & gets to the calendar portion. I seen a bunch of posts on the palm support site stating the same thing that bunch of ppl are experiencing same hangup. Any help/updates on how to get past this?

Did AT&T update and Calendar no longer synching.

I recieved the Palm Cingular to AT&T update e-mail and installed it onto my 680 via the USB cable. Now when I try to do a Hotsynch, my Calendar will not synch. The computer freezes in "Synching" mode and I have to disconnect the USB and do a soft reset on the phone and have to shut off the Hotsynch program to stop the computer from thinking its synching (the hotsynch icon goes round and round, so its not a frozen program). I think its "looping" somehow. If I adjust the hotsynch to "do nothing" on the Calender when Hotsynching, it synchs everything else.
Apparently this is occuring quite frequently because on the Palm forum website other people are having the same issue. Palm support is no support at all, they say it's my device but it was working flawlessly prior to the update insatallation.
Any suggestions as to how I can get my computer and 680 to synch the Calendar? Do I have to do a hard reset? If so, How do I save all the info on my phone? Can I save the Calendar info on my SD Card? If so how do I do it before I do the hard reset? Thank you for any help you can provide.

Have you tried a hard reset? I read on this thread that a hard resert helped. Obviously, if you have data that is not backed up, you will loose it. Do you have a handy backup program?

Other users say that after a hard resert the update remains on your phone, since it is a rom update.

Well,

There are many out there you can choose. The one I use is NVBackup. Here is the link.

Freeware Palm: NVBackup v1.18

Like all freeware, use at your own risk. I have and have had no issues.
