HELP: Treo 680 acting weird after inserting SIM card - Treo Forum

I bought a T-Mobile SIM card from ebay and it arrived today. I plugged it into my Treo 680. When the phone boots up, touchscreen (stylus) stopped working, and the menus started acting weird. Without touchscreen, I basically could not use the phone anymore. I tried removing the SIM card but that didn't help. Also tried warm reset, and hard reset. Neither helped. The touchscreen still doesn't work. Any suggestion? Did the SIM card fry the phone? How could that happen?

I don't see how a SIM card can fry your treo but I guess weirder things have happened.

How old is your Treo? If it's warrantyable I'd send it back.

I haven't heard of a SIM card "frying" a phone. Even with the SIM out, your completely unable to do even a hard reset? Or the hard reset fails to correct the problem? Just trying to further understand the issue.

Solved. I just need to remove the clear plastic film.

For a whole week it was working fine with the plastic film. Then stopped working. Strange...
