I just tried it! I have AT&T/Cingular. It worked perfectly the very first time!

I tried this, and yes, it seemed to work (i.e. the system accepted my changes) but now when anyone tries to call me, they are greeted with "Welcome to AT&T voicemail. We need more information to route your call properly".

Guess what? Now my calls go to some generic voicemail system, and people have to reenter my phone number.

I'd use caution with this, people.

Thank you for this. I have been wondering how I can change the settings of how many rings my phone goes to voice mail. I am still playing with the settings to get it right. I did set it so it took 8 rings instead of my default 3. I tried the next step up and somehow I disabled something. Hopefully I can get the settings right so I don't mess up the phone or have to call att to fix the issue. Thanks again for the information.
