Turning on Bluetooth Causes Crash - Treo Forum

Hello Treonauts.
I have a Treo 680 and just got a bluetooth headset. Seemed to install okay, but after turning of Bluetooth and later turning it back on, it crashed, just as Bluetooth was turning on. Now everytime I try to turn on Bluetooth, it crashes. Also occasionally when I get a phone call and try to answer it, it crashes (when the Bluetooth is on).

I have Phone Technician and Butler and which could possibly interact. But nothing else that seems involved with getting/making calls.

Any ideas?

I have both Phone Technician and Butler installed as well, neither of which conflict with BT.

Have you tried removing the trusted device and then re-pairing it?

Did the resets happen after or before you installed Butler and Phone Technician? Like khris said, delete the trusted device and then do a soft resert. After your phone reboots, try pairing your device(s) again. Let us know if that helped.

Thanks so much for the replies - didn't realize they were there until now.
I did try deleting the device and doing a soft reset and pairing the device again. It helped for a week or so and then this happened again. Somehow it stopped after a couple of days - actually when at the time when someone else called me (though people had called before and that didn't fix it then). I already had Butler and Phone Technician on the phone before I got the bluetooth headset. And the crashes didn't start right away when I paired the headset. Like I say, they are gone right now, so can't give any other info, but when/if it happens again, I'll try to keep better records of what happened. Thanks so much for the input, Khris and comiken205.!

The best thing you can do is to remember what you've installed and when.

My 680 recently started resetting for no reason and I couldn't figure out why as it had been solid for weeks prior. Then I remembered that I installed an update to MyMail which was causing the problem. I reverted to a backup from a week ago and everything has been fine since then.
