Treo 680 Truncated Long SMS Reception problem - Treo Forum

Hi

My Treo 680 was working flawlessly then suddenly a week ago it was no longer able to receive Long SMS (over 160 characters) in full... The SMS gets truncated after only the first part. I didn't do any setting change. Checked the SIM card in my Samsung and long SMS received OK. Therefore SIM card is not the problem.

Sending out Long SMS is not a problem though.

Anybody has experienced similar problem and found a workaround to fix? I can't find anything related to changing settings with Long SMS.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Brahm, Hi Forum,
I have got the same problem as Brahm got with those cut off SMS if more than 160 characters.

Can anyone please help? I'm living in Sumatra and there is no Treo Mechanic to be found anywhere

Try a soft reset. Remove the battery and re-insert it.

unfortunately not! i resetted it before, but just tried again to be sure. i sent a message to myself. it arrives truncated

can't download MMS-es all of a sudden too. i bought my treo in May '07. this has only happened since yesterday!

appreciate your help lots!

I believe, correct me if I am wrong, but there is a 160 character limit on the Treos.

Had the same problem with my 680... Never received more than 160 caracters! Looks like a limitation of the 680?

It is a limitation of my 700P as well. I am trying to find out where I read that, but I know I did. Not faulty, just a program limitation.

that's not true - i have been able to send and receive msgs up to 5 msgs long, as well as MMSes for the past 6 months i have owned my treo. this only happened 2 days ago!

help

am getting truncated messages all the time now!
