calendar/contacts will not sync from Treo 680 to Outlook - Treo Forum

Situation - setting up a new computer, and for some reason, I cannot get my contacts/calendar from my Treo, to sync with Outlook on the new computer. I've had this Treo successfully sync'd with 3 other computers, no problem. Now, I can't get them to sync one contact/calendar entry, even when the conduits are set to sync. I've tried having the handheld overwrite the computer, and still nothing. I've checked the sync log, and it doesn't even record that a sync of those two conduits happend. It's syncs everything else just fine (tasks, notepad, install, backup, etc).

I'm at my wits end. I just tried it on another computer - same issue, despite the sync manager telling me it should sync. Thoughts?

Try going back to the basics. Double check that you have your device set to sync with Outlook. If you do, then uninstall and reinstall the hotsync software. Let us know how this turns out.

Hey there - I did that, and more. I uninstalled, reinstalled, even chaged the sync location from Outlook to Palm Desktop, and still nothing - only tasks, memos, and backup/install apps works. Not one contact/calendar entry is syncing, in either direction.

It's strange. I'm not a neophyte with Treo's, or with any PDA sync tool for that matter, and this one is throwing me for a curve.

Hmmm...have you tried a hard reset? Its sounding like this problem is specific to the handheld....

I am having the same problem - can't do a hard reset on the phone because I cannot back up all the changes on it. chicken and egg problem. Is there some way to back up the treo to a card and then reload the data?

NVBackup - Fabulous (& FREE) backup program. Has saved my data (& sanity!)

Do you have ActiveSync installed? That will disable the contacts/calendar sync with your computer, you'll only be able to do it over the air.

I've heard there are issues with Windows Vista, maybe that's the case here, being at "new" computer? Plam evidently has beta version software out now.

Whilst I have no problem with my 680 hot syncing with MS Outlook, what I do find is that data transferred from the 680 is lost from Outlook after about 3 to 4 months. I am never sure if I should set 'handheld to overwrite computer' which is what it is set at or vice versa. Any suggestions please.
