Bluetooth headset for Treo 680

I'm looking for a bluetooth headset w/ good distance range for the Treo. I've tried the motorola H700 but it became staticy when I walked 7ft from the phone and the person I was speaking to said they heard a buz or feedback. I work in a hospital and they jam phone signals so it doesn’t interfere w/ the equipment. There are patches of areas where I can get signal near where I work in the pharmacy. My last phone before the Treo was a TDMA old school Nokia which I used a wired free headset to hands free so I don't have any experience w/ bluetooth. Does the range of the device vary depending on the phone you pair it w/? And does anyone have a device they are using or have used which you would recommend?
