Unhappy Treo 680 reboots every time I press contacts/calendar/Hsync

I just got my treo 680 after my m515 which I used for the past 5 yrs died. I transferred over an excel document and 2 music MP3 files to my SD card last night to test it out and see how it worked. At first the Treo just wouldn't recognize the card. This morning it finally recognized it. It began playing a song but half way through it started skipping and got stuck on ptunes. I rest it and after that, it keeps rebooting. I am able to limited things like use the phone but if I try to access the calendar or contacts, it automatically reboots. I've try all the resets (warm, hard etc). Any ideas? I’ve never had to troubleshoot my m515 bec it never gave me any trouble or froze. Also, any idea how I can prevent this from happening again? Should I just refrain from ever listening to music? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Are you using the same card that you used in your m515? If so, you might need to format it for the Treo680 first and then move your stuff over. You didn't mention how you transferred your music and Excel over ... by a card reader or hotsynch? Are you using the new Palm desktop/synch software that came with the Treo? You can't use what you had before, so that could be another area to check.

I'm not using the same SD card. I'm using a 1 gb 150x SD card from my camera. I used the hot sync to transfer the file/music.

Since this is such an upgrade you probably have some incompatable applications and .pdb files. All your info should still be on your PC (double check the backup folder to be sure). Like Maris said, you need to make sure that you've installed the new version of the Palm Desktop that came with your 680. Now hard reset your phone, and then play like its an "initial sync" to that computer with your 680. It will probably tell you that there are some incompatable applications and files that will not be installed, and those will be moved to a folder for safe keeping. Once this is done, see how everything works and then let us know!
