Unable to HotSync Contacts to Treo 680 Handheld

I can't seem to figure out why I can't hotsync my contacts to my handheld. It worked fine once but now it doesn't work.

The problem started when I recently tried to place new software on the handheld and performed a hotsync. It failed and then started malfunctioning by continually powering on then off without stopping. I performed a complete RESET and everything erased. I now want to hotsync my contacts. Can someone please help?

A secondary problem is that I am also unable to download my pictures from the handheld to my desktop. Can you help here too?

First off, are you using the version of the Palm Desktop that came with your 680? If not, you need to install it. Next, search for the application that is causing you this headache in your backup folder. Did you find it? Now delete it or remove it from this folder. Hard reset, then sync again.

As for the pictures thing, if you have the current version of the desktop on your computer they should sync when you do a complete hotsync. Check your hotsync software and make sure its set to sync your media. If all else fails, you can delete and reinstall the hotsync software as well.
