Question Battery drain question

Hello all

I'm confused about how to do the full battery drain. Do I
take out the battery and SIM then put them both back in and charge for 4-6 hours
OR
do I take out the battery and SIM, replace the battery, leave the SIM out and then charge for 4-6 hours?

I've done the process once before, charging with the battery and SIM in, but didn't notice much in the way of increased battery life - I'm still down to about 30% at the end of the day, even after charging overnight.

And another question .... is it best to charge phone every night or to wait until it gets to a certain percentage of battery power left before you recharge?

Many thanks for your help

I'm guessing you have a 680, since a post about a case from you. (See the Sticky from Wanderer in the Treo 680 forum), but the charger attaches first, then remove the battery, WAIT one minute+, then remove SIM, WAIT another minute. Now replace the SIM card AND put Battery back in, THEN DO NOT TOUCH ANY KEY or RESPOND TO ANY PROMPT ON THE SCREEN, just leave it alone attached to the charger for 4-6 hours. Repeatable as needed but seems to be successful procedure. Good Luck.

Thanks, Cartogary. Yes, it's a 680. Do i need to drain the battery fully before I do this, or can I do this anytime?

I did the prescribed charge three nights in a row. The first charge I did after letting the phone's battery drain fully...actually shutting down, then the following two times when it was at 15% or less charge showing.

I have had a drastic improvement in battery life.
