Ringo Pro - Feedback from Electric Pocket - New Version?

Folks,

I've received an answer from electric pocket about the Ringo Pro problem... they sent me a new version thru email - that seems to be version 4.455. I've seen some complaints about the lack of support from Electric Pocket, but so far, they seemed to be very quick and responsive in all emails I've sent them.

Guys, from those that had problems with Ringo Pro, is it really a newer version? Anyway, I'll try to give it a shot. I'll report what happens.

I do not know if I'm allowed to post the version they sent me here. Is there any moderator around? Let me know.

All the best,

WildStar

OK, version 4.455 installed...

... had tested 5 times - so far no soft resets. I'll keep trying.

However, the delay between receiving the call and start paying the ring tone continues (already replied to ElectricPocket about the issue). Keep you informed.

Might want to contact the vendor about posting that build. A better idea, though, might be to supply a link to that build.

Folks,

Electric Pocket support said this new build will be up on their site in a couple of days... do you think it's OK to post this build here for the guys here? It's owner key-protected, I think it's OK... moderators?

WS

Moderators: It's a 401KB zipped file. Let me know if it's OK...

Ringo Pro Build 4455

Folks,

I uploaded that into a filesharing address:

Ringo Pro Build4455.zip - Removed as per Electric Pocket solicitation...
go to Electric Pocket website to retrieve it...

After a entire day using it, seems to be more stable. No soft resets when receiving calls...

WS

Any word from Electric Pocket on fixing the mp3 files not playing immediately when there is an incoming call?

I installed the patch above. There's no change in the delay.

Also, I have an issue with my phone resetting occasionally when placing or receiving a call. Does anyone know if this is related to ringo pro?

I have the Treo 680.

jawaba,

Look, Electric Pocket said me this build only covers the stability issue with the 680. It's not supposed to take care of the delay issue. The version I had caused a soft reset for every call I received. This one, at least, worked for me.

It's funny, because I complained about the SAME issue to Electric Pocket support, and asked if this delay could be taken off from a future Ringo version. They answered me the delay issue is something they are aware of, but for now they wouldn't have a solution for this.

Apologize me if I made you understand this build was sent to me with the stability fix AND the delay fix. Not at all - it only handles (in theory - but worked in my case) the stability when used with Treo 680. Nothing about the ringtone delay is covered with this new build.

Thanks. You didn't make me think that, but I was hoping someone had some input on this. Personally, I think that is a wee bit important since the delay in ringtone can make you miss calls if you aren't carrying your phone.

Also: (Completely forgot this).. I've answered my phone before prior to the ringtone beginning. It subsequently began playing in my ear while I was trying to have my conversation on the phone. I hit buttons on the side and couldn't make it stop. This was an important business call which I had to continue (made me wish I didn't have such an annoying mp3 playing).

Another thing is that when I get another call while having a conversation, the mp3 tone begins to play in my ear. FRUSTRATING!

Anyone else experience this? Any tips? Other than the obvious "Dump Ringo Pro?"
