Palm Installer - Treo Forum

I have had problems with palm installer. I have a new treo 680 unlocked and it will sync fine unless I have a program or update in the palm installer. Then the hot sync doesn't finish. if I remove the app to be installed it works fine.

Any thoughts?

What error does it report in the Hotsync log?

HotSync Error: An application cancelled sychronization or failed to respond to a HotSync notification. Please ensure that you are not currently editing data using applications such as Palm OS Desktop or Install Tool. (8009)

But I have neither the Install or Desktop open. I have reinstalled the software with the installation disk but still the same result.

Your not, by chance, trying to install an application directly to the card instead of the main menu? What other things do you have your device set to do while it is syncing?

No the prc file is in the upper field on quick install. Th eonly other app that I have added was a trial of Ringo, which I am not satisfied with but can't find a way to delete it.
All of this is based on trying to add the palm update for 680 to improve battery life.

Does going to the Home screen, selecting Menu, Delete, highlighting Ringo and clicking on Delete work?

Thanks now Ringo is history. If I could just get installer to work so I can add the new 680 patch.
