![]() | No problem. I am getting great results again now. I also got the extra battery from Seidio (slim one) and it is going great. It also came with a note that said it would perform better after several full charges. So, I guess that's standard with these types of batteries. Between the Palm battery and the Seidio one on hand for emergencies, I'm all set. |

![]() | Just got my new 680 yesterday...and charged it fully (I thought, anyway) overnight. But, today...wow! I was not ready to go from full-charge to less than 20% in less than a day of low use...and no internet or email activity. I am not impressed at all, and the prospect of having to buy another battery simply to make it through an average day...is not acceptable. And, yes...I have downloaded the OTA Palm camera patch. My camera version is 3.1. I am going to do a full drain, and then try a full charge tonight per the instructions in the "Palm Treo 680 battery instructions" sticky. I am in high hopes that this betters the battery life. I am comparing the 680 to a Samsung Blackjack. I like the Treo better so far, but if the battery life doesn't improve significantly...I may have to give the 680 up. And...I really don't want to... ![]() |

![]() ![]() | i think you'll find the battery life improves considerably after installing the patch and the battery drain process. at least most that have done this and reported back have, from what we've seen. good luck! |

![]() | Thanks, Brandon. I hope so. I have seen the "elephant-hump" that the extended battery and cover produce on this otherwise sleek little phone...and I don't want to have to go to that extreme. |

![]() | I usually only charge it when it's below 5%, till full. In the beginning i've let the battery run out till the phone shuts itself down a couple of times. When I installed the patch I did the sim-out reset 2 times and since then I only charge it on sundays. The phone is off during the night though (+-6hours). I keep bluetooth and beamer off when not in use and i've put the screen brightness down to about 30% of the indicator bar. In one week: around 40 mins of calls, 25 sms, e-mail checking 3 times a day on average, calendar using, about 20 pictures taken + several times watching them, and around 30 minutes of navigating (tomtom). One charge lasts from sunday till sunday. |

But...even today after a full SIM/Battery-out reset and charge last night...I have less than 40% left after only 6-hours. That pretty much blows if you ask me. Gonna give it one more chance to make the cut with another charge tonight...if nothing changes, it's going back...unfortunately, because I like this phone a lot more than the Blackjack. ![]() Guess I may not be a treonaut after all. | |

![]() | I was very concerned about battery life after having the T680 for two weeks. I've had it a month now though and can confirm, with great relief, that it lasts more than twice as long now as it did then. The battery really does need a few weeks to find its feet. Stick with it. Dave. |

![]() | After my first Treo 680 went into a mysterious coma...I was fortunate to find a Cingular store that would help me exchange for a new one yesterday. This one seems to run faster and smoother than the first, and aside from a case or two of the infamous "gibberish in place of Cingular logo" thing...it seems to be getting on fine. And...after a prescribed drain/reset/charge overnight last night...it has gone a record 11-hours and is still at 50% charge!! Whoo-hoo!! If it gets better with time...this might be OK after all. And, that's without installing the battery "patch" that Palm offers. Do you all think I still need it?I'm glad I didn't toss the first one and go back to a Blackjack or something, because I really am getting to like this Treo. I can see where all the love around here for the phone comes from. |
