![]() ![]() | Express Battery Drain I've got a new 680, so to "condition" the new battery using the technique described here, how can drain the battery quickly? I think remember some way to press some button combo to make that happen when I had my 270 or 600. Is there a similar technique to drain the battery rapidly on the 680?

| Junior Member ![]() | I can't tell you how much this post has helped me. All the tips here worked well. I have Blue Tooth off, Beam Receive off, I disabled the automatic clock setting, did the battery reset as described and I can make it through an entire weekend without running out of charge. I also have Versamail set to receive items as the arrive with no problems. Thanks much. |

I tried the "conditioning" process above on Sunday. After a 6-hour charge, the battery was up to 97%, and I left the 680 sitting overnight with the phone on, but with Bluetooth off. Nearly 9 hours later, it's only down to 91%, which seems like a huge improvement. | |

![]() | Hi, I've had my 680 for almost 2 weeks. The battery life has been acceptable but it does run down faster than advertised. I've found this forum and topic, and I will follow the process described in the top post, but I don't want to do it before getting an answer to this simple question: ATT has released a fix/Critical Software Update "that will improve battery life." Should I do this update instead of the process described here? Should I do it in addition to the process described here? Before or after doing the update? Thanks for the help. Eric |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The update has the battery patch included, but doing the battery reset will help improve battery life.
