Question 680 shuts down due to battery low, when it's not

I purchased the extended battery from Seidio and my 680 will shut down due to extremely low battery even after it's been charged. When I perform a reset, my battery will now register full and last the rest of the day or more. I have performed the SIM and battery reset function, but no change. Has anyone encountered this issue?

So it will just randomly tell you it has a low battery, and a reset clears it up?

Exactly. I had just reset the sim & battery (from the begining of this thread) in hopes it would clear it up. A couple of hours later while replying to a text, my 680 started a countdown to shutdown due to extremely low battery. I just remove and replace the battery and it will register over 90% battery left. I have a few 3rd party programs, TCPMP, Backup Buddy, NeatFreak Pack (uninstall mgr & cleanup), Bejeweled & Solitaire.
Any advice would be appreciated!

Thank you for giving me chance to be a Treonauts. My first posting is with regard to battery life and sending contacts by messaging.

1. Battery life is worrysome. Did install the camera patch. Still not happy. Battery supporting only 2 - 2.5 hrs talk time.

2. Every time try to send contact by messaging phone asks for MMS support. Cannot i send the contact by simple text message or as an attachement.

Somebody help me on this.

First, welcome to Treonauts!

1. You've installed the camera patch, but have you done the full battery out reset as described in this thread? If not give it a try, you should see significant improvement.

2. If you try to send a contact (or any of the PIM info) it sends it as a file attachment. SMS doesn't support this, but the MMS option can. If you need to send this info over SMS, try highlighting the info, then copy and paste it.

Hope this helps!

Hi all and so far I'm loving my Treo680.

I've installed the camera patch and done the battery reset (the first person who had my treo at work didn't do a proper first charge) and my Treo is lasting a lot longer than when I first got it. It's still not that great though. With minimal use (a few short calls through the day, some texting, adding and looking at contacts/events and maybe a game of solitaire) it gets down to aroun 50% at the end of the day. Is this about average for everybody elses 680? Should I not be worried about getting more time out of it?

Also, I haven't seen 100% after charging overnight after a reset. Is there something else I need to do?

Thanks for the info so far.

Greg

Yes. Try the reset again. Some people noticed huge gains overnight, while others had to do this a few times (2-3). It won't hurt your device.

Hello Treonauts,

One question. Do I have to wait until the battery drain before performing battery out reset?

Let your battery run as low as possible before you do the reset. Many have had success without compleatly draining the battery.
