| I made my first post! ![]() | bluetooth headset won't override wired jack I've owned a CDMA Treo 650 for a while and just switched providers and now have the 680 on the Cingular GSM network. The one hurdle I have left to overcome in the transition from 650 to 680 is that my bluetooth headset won't override the wired headset jack. This worked fine on my 650 using default settings. Here's some more details: I use a 2.5mm stereo headset adapter to play mp3s through the cassette adapter in my car stereo. On my 650, if I received a phone call, the music would pause and I could answer my phone using the bluetooth headset. One the 680, with the same bluetooth headsets (Plantronics 320 and 655) work fine if the headset adapter (or an actual wired headset) are not plugged in, but as soon as I plug in to the jack, the bluetooth headset will no longer work. The only way for me to answer a call with my bt headset is to pull the plug out of the jack. This may not sound like a huge deal, but it is an annoyance, and it's a safety issue trying to plug it back in again to continue listening to music after I complete my call. I was psyched when I went into the Palm Prefs applet and selected "Hands-Free" from the communication section. In there it says: Configure advanced settings for your Bluetooth Hands-Free device. and there is a check box for: Always route call to Hands-Free. This sounds like exactly what I want, but doesn't do a darn thing. I've even done a full reset to go back to defaults and re-paired my headset (w/o installing any settings or apps from my previous 650) and that didn't help either. Has anyone else run into this problem? Has anyone else tried this and had it work? Any suggestions or work-around would be greatly appreciated. I really miss this basic "feature" of the 650. |
