Can you all please do a battery 'check' for me tonight?

Tonight, take your phone and shut the phone off. Check the battery '%' number - maybe write it down for when you wake up. Then hit the power button to turn the screen/keyboard off. When you wake up in the morning, let me know how many % of battery was used up with everything turned off. My phone, and my wife's phone uses about 12-14% with everything turned OFF. My Palm TX can sit for a week and stay at the same level... Anyway, please let me know.

If you check on Andrew's blog a few weeks ago, lots of discussion on the 680 battery. It was advised by a member to turn off certain features if you don't use them all the time - I turned off: beam, auto time/date, bluetooth - the battery life improved greatly - now when I chage it at night and turn it on in the morning it's usually at 98% whereas in the first week it would sometimes be at 76%. The battery life did start to improve after a week or so. I remember my 650 used to be fine for days (with similar usage).

Yes, I realize all of that... I have BT off, beam off and have been using it for two weeks now. Let me know what yours does... off charger, of course AND - you didn't vote, don't forget to vote after you test your phone.

Clay:
For the last 7 nights that has been my way of going to bed. And for each of these seven corresponding mornings my Treo has only lost 1% during the 8-9 h. it is off!
This is after doing a battery-reset and not using the camera afterwards! There has been reportings stating that launching the camera would drain the battery quickly. I don't know what has done it for me - the battery reset or not launching the camera...
At least I did a 100 h run without recharching and still had 15% left (with phone off at nights).
My current cycle is even better: after 48 hours it was only down at 75%. Now, after 72h it's down to 46%, but that's no wonder since we played 2 hours of Bejeweled yesterday.

My Treo 680 used to loose power by 5% per hour when phone was off, but after doing the battery reset the situation improved dramatically. After an eight hours' night, with the phone, IR and BT off, the battery now drops just 1%.

That 1% is, of course, approximate. Don't know what the actual voltage drop is, but I doubt that a 300 hrs stand-by time would be possible. With the kind of use I put the Treo through, charging the battery every night seems necessary, though probably charging it every other night would just and just be adequate.

I will check mine tonight. I have two batteries and I take them down to the very end. I can go almost two days on a charge. I have noticed that the phone goes a long way with "0%." I still have about 15 minutes of talk time at 0%.

I have 2 batteries and just ordered a third. I tried the battery reset and there must be something to that. Power usage is better but still having to charge more often than I did with my 650. Still...I like the 680 better.

It's the camera.

As I said above, after a battery reset, the power consumption was normalized. The condition lasted as long as I didn't touch the camera. Today, after a couple of shots, the battery is draining by 5% per hour again.

Somehow, something of the camera app is not shut down after using the camera, and it is draining power.

The 680's battery is two thirds the capacity of the one supplied with the 650, so charging more often is to be expected

Can you please tell me what a battery reset is and how to do this? Thanks
