| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Calendar issues (moved from 600 to 680) I may love this Treonauts site as much as I'm loving my day old 680... On this ite, I found how to disable my calendar's insistence that an alarm go on every new entry. But I can't figure out two other things: does the option to have "floating appointments" no longer exist (and if so, has anyone figured out a workaround? I can't believe that feature would be gone, it was an enormous help)? Also, every new entry is an hour long. How does one change that default length? |

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | There isn't an answer Best I was ever able to tell, the issue involves the software used. The older Treos used a calendar software that allowed for floating appointments, but the 680 doesn't have that same capability. I haven't take the time to purchase Pimlico's DateBk software yet... but it would appear for $25, that would again provide floating appointment capabilities, amongst a list of other potential uses. (I also haven't yet taken the time to look for reviews of that software via these threads, but if anyone has used it, posting your comments here would help -- especially in regards to that floating appointment question!) |

| Regular Contributer ![]() | Datebook is an incredibly powerful and useful program that is a MUST on any palm I own. And it does have floating appointments. It's free to try for 45 days, why don't you just install and use it to see if it's as useful for you. I'm sure after a few days you'll understand why handspring made it part of the palm package and wonder why they stopped doing that in subsequent products. It leaves no footprint if you uninstall it. Personally I wouldn't hesitate to spend $25 on something that makes my life so much easier, especially after spending $400 for the hardware. Additionally, I paid for my software at least 4 palm products ago so the relative cost has been virtually nothing. |
