| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Treo 680 email issues Greetings! I just bought a Treo 680 unlocked GSM. My service provider is T-Mobile. I have a Macintosh PowerBook, with Entourage as my email program. Has anyone had any trouble getting their Treo 680 to receive and send emails? I went through the process of setting up my internet/email account through T-Mobile so I could send/receive emails via my Treo 680. I am in an executive suite and my email server is through them. My "tech guy" at my office spent 2 1/2 hours going back and forth between Palm tech and T-Mobile tech. So far, I can receive emails but cannot send, and nobody seems to be able to figure out why. Any feedback!? Thanks! |

| Regular Contributer ![]() | Offhand I'd say it sounds like the setting in the treo is not set correctly. If your sending then obviously it's talking to the mailserver. Inability to send sounds like the server doesn't like what your treo is saying to it. Perhaps it's the SSL connection or Apop setting. Without more details on what was tried or how your mail server is setup it's difficult to guess anymore. Maybe you could try another program such as chattermail, which is free for 30 days and try using that. |

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | I'm having problem with a new 680, Versamail and Gmail. I can't get it to receive messages. It connects to the server and the status window shows it downloading ("downloading 1 of 3"...etc...etc.) and the progress bar goes across and completes. Once that finishes, the messages are nowhere in the inbox or anywhere else. I have no filters set, nor any 3rd party apps loaded. I should also point out that upon initial setup or after a hard reset the device will get the messages. It breaks somewhere along the way though. ![]() | I also have the unlocked version with T-mobile using T-Zones to connect to bellsouth for email. I was able to receive but not send emails using my "usual" mail information that had worked on my previous phone, but discovered I needed different setup to use T-mobile. Perhaps this is your situation. If you go to your "myTmobile" area on the their Web site and click e-mail and advanced, you will see the setup needed. I was not able to use bellsouth's information but substituted t-mobile's in/out server information and everything worked. Additionally, be sure to add your own email information into the "add an email account" area on the T-mobile site. I can now send and receive bellsouth emails with the 680 and T-mobile. | Regular Contributer ![]() | lushmojo, The problem is in the settings I suspect. Can you get on the net? If yes then the people you should be contacting is your mailserver administrator. In your case gmail not palm since it's not their problem. have you enabled pop access in your gmail account? Have you setup versamail to use SSL on both incoming and outgoing servers? Have you followed this? http://mail.google.com/support/bin/a...287&topic=1556 If all that is done perhaps a hard reset and reload versamail. If that fails then try another email client or the gmail app. |
