My Stomach Hates Me is on a distinguished road
SMS Problems on 680

I have waited too long to receive my 680 and now the problems begin. Last night i tried to send an SMS and as soon as it says "Message Sent" the 680 freezes up. It has happened all day--send a message--freeze--pull out battery--and so on. I called tech support and went through 3 reps who did'nt know squat. So i troubled shooted myself through every app. Came down to a hard reset (680--pull the battery out & hold down the power then place battery back in while still holding the power button). I took the Ringo App off and the problem stopped. Hopefully it is that app and not firmware issues. On another note: Palm has the worst Customer & Technical Support. But overall I love my Arctic White 680..till another issue comes up.

Welcome to Treonauts My Stomach Hates Me, (an unusual name), I think the app was probably the course of your Treo freezing, third party apps can cause conflict with the phone.

Make sure you have the newest version of Ringo installed. It's version 4.453. That should fix it.

The first SMS message I sent went out twice for some reason. Other than that I haven't had any problems. I haven't installed Ringo yet, but was planning on it. Which version causes the problem?

MSHM, I have been having that problem since the first day I bought my phone as well. I've posted in HOForums and MytreoForums & it seemed I was the only one with this issue. I returned two 680's as a result just to find out it's a qwerk within the phone. Quite aggrivating to find out after spending that much money. I too have gone through removing apps, hard resetting and calling Palm to trouble shoot. The only thing that makes it stop is removing the thread all together and starting over. It's a major issue that Palm needs to address. I like my arctic white 680 over all but this freezing issue is something I'm just not getting use to...
