Angry Shame on Palm-Treo 680 not compatible with Palm® GPS Navigator Smartphone Edition 2

I got my 680 12/3 via Cingular and returned it same day - Palm® GPS Navigator Smartphone Edition 2 released and sold by Palm on 8/17/06 does NOT work with Treo 680. Called TomTom and Cingular and they both acknowledged the same. TomTom even called me back 3 times to get more data on firmware so they may find a solution to it. Cingular apologized seceral times. Called Palm support and Palm HQ (president's office). I got an e-mail from support basically confirming I am out of luck until they find a solution. 2 days later I heard from a Nick at Palm HQ - basically stating the same and "not sure what they can do about it". He did mention that it states not compatible on their web site under Palm® GPS Navigator Smartphone Edition 2 . How about stating that under TREO 680?????. How does a company deliver two products to market - 90 days apart, sell them and not be responsible for ensuring they work together from day one? Truly disappointed - I have been a Handspring/Palm customer for almost 9 years now.
Do not buy Treo 680 if you have GPS products - It will NOT work.

Actually, I read on this forum that the TomTom Navigator 5 does work with the Treo 680, but the Navigator 6 does not. I have NO DOUBT though that Palm and/or TomTom will work out the kinks and release an update shortly.

There is a way to get TomTom 6 to work, but it's not exactly a simple process.
