Got my 680 yesterday... problem with Versamail

Hey everyone,
So, I am totally new to Treos, have been anxiously awaiting the 680 release and dealing with a crap phone for 8 months while I waited. So very excited to have the new Treo in my hand.

However, I am already having a problem with Versamail. I set up my three email accounts fine and it started pulling emails off the server (about 1500 off for each address), once they were on the phone I deleted all but 10-15 for each address. Have it set to AutoSync every 15 minutes. Things were working fine. But now whenever I go into Versamail there is a terrible lag/delay in doing anything. Opening messages, selecting things from the menu, changing boxes -- each action takes maybe 15-25 seconds. I haven't even installed the software on my computer yet, am just trying to get a feel for it first before deciding if I want to use Outlook or the Palm desktop. And am still totally clueless about (re)installing applications onto the device. Was just wondering if this is a common problem and/or if I should reinstall the Versamail software and how to do that.
Also, all of my contacts from my old Noika were saved to my sim card, but are just Name/Number contacts, not the picture/detailed info of the contacts I can create on the Treo. Am thinking that once I start synching to my computer that a solution to this will become evident, but wanted to throw that out there as well.

Taz is right, as that many messages (holy crap!) would definantly cause some lag in the program. As for your contacts on your SIM, there's an option in your contacts tab of your phone app. Hit Menu>Import from SIM to add all your contacts onto your phone!
