Question Enfora Sled w/ 680?

I've been reading for a couple months now, anxiously awaiting the release of the 680. I ordered mine from palm on the 23rd, then cancelled it last week and decided to go through Airport Wireless. They said I should have my new treo tomorrow.

Anyway, in all of my reading (here and other treo sites) it sees like I've seen someone say that the enfora wifi sled will work on the 680. Am I remembering correctly? Seems like I've also read that enfora won't be creating one for the 680.

I don't plan to get a data plan (can't talk dh into it yet anyway), and don't know that I really need it for the way I use things, but think I'd like the option of having wifi accessibility.

Any insights or points in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

I'll post in intro later today in the OT section.

Thanks.
Christy

If you don't want to use a data plan and plan on using wifi you might want to wait and be absolutely sure that wifi will work with this unit.

If your using t-mobile you could sign up for the $5.99/mo t-zones plan and use the proxy workaround to get email and internet access. Just search around for threads about t-mobile and t-zones proxy settings.

I've heard these sentiments more and more and I'm curious what the draw to Smartphones/PDAs is for people who dont plan to use the data features. I'm not knocking you for it, I'm just curious.

Voe -

Sorry for the late reply. I've been enjoying my 680 too much.

As for why I wanted a Treo, bottom line is I love my Palm OS PDAs, but need a keyboard. Never could get the hang of Graffiti, and don't want to drag around a Bluetooth keyboard.

I bought a ThumBoard for my Visor Deluxe, and bought the Tungsten C largely because of it's keyboard. Since no one makes a POS PDA w/ keyboard, my option was a Treo. I'm currently w/ T-Mobile, and don't want to switch carriers. So the 700P isn't an option. I almost bought a 650 a number of months ago, right about the time the rumors started flying about the 680. Decided to wait it out. I'm really glad I did.

I also love having my address book in my phone, without having to enter info in twice. THAT was becoming a real pain.

Hope that helps. Please feel free to ask any other questions.
