Treo 650 "Network not connected"

Having an issue with my Treo 650 that has put it in a drawer for the last few months, while I use *gasp* a regular phone.

The phone worked fine, then in the middle of the day the phone randomly displayed "network something or other, I believe it said Network Won't Connect but it was a while ago, in the top right and wouldn't connect to Sprint to make phone calls. I left it at Sprint for a few days, and they said I need to call Palm, its a software issue. I called Palm, they did a few things, including a hard reset, and said it was a hardware issue and to call sprint. I went back to sprint, they said to call palm again, and I ended up setting my regular phone back up to the account.

this 650 was used by my father problem free for a long time, than given to me when he upgraded to a 700p. It worked for me for about 2months before it started the network connect problem. Now that the phone is disconnected from sprint, it just says "phone off." When I hold the end key to turn it on, the sprint splash screen comes on, than says "phone off" again. I tried taking it to sprint a few weeks ago, and setting it back up so I could claim warranty, but when he put the code in to set it up, the phone would just reset itself and not take.

Does anyone know where to start to fix this, or should I just trash it?

Go through the hard reset process again, then take it back to Sprint and have them put the code in again.

In the process of selling my 650s. It hurts but at least they'll be getting used.

Ok, it is "Network Search" that the phone is displaying, with a red antenna. I did a hard reset, as well as a "zero-out." I took it to sprint, and the guy there said it had to be a hardware issue because even if it was not connected to a number, it would still connect to sprint and show a black antenna, while giving an error message if you try to dial out. We messed with the antenna, as well as another hard reset, and the phone still says "Phone off" after you try to turn the phone on, than switches to "Network Search" with a red antenna after awhile.

I am deffinatley thinking I got screwed by Sprint, and its a hardware issue not software. I am still kicking myself in the butt for not claiming warranty and going on the trip for my company without a phone. Looks like I am stuck with this garbage Musiq phone until I can save up 400 bones, unless someone has an idea of how to fix this 650

Solved. Just bought a Centro used. Thanks anyway guys. If anyone wants a working, minus the no network issue, and heavily used 650 for parts. Let me know. If someone is in Maryland, or doesn't mind a drive for a free/cheap phone, its all yours
