| A Few Questions.... ![]() | I've had my 650 for about 18 months now. Up until recently, I could get several days worth of use out of my OEM battery. I don't talk on the phone much and my heaviest use is of the Calendar feature. I am sure I used to get 5-7 days out of a single charge (just a feeling, not a scientific test). Recently, the battery only lasts 1-1.5 days before it's dead. Well, I thought I'd replace it with the Seidio extended battery. I'm on day 2 with this new battery (which I charged overnight) and it's 50% drained. How odd. I will do the "deep cycle" 2-3 times in the coming days, but I was wondering if there could be a more serious issue with the phone itself? Is it maybe draining power at an increased rate? I do have the replacement plan with Verizon and I suppose I could get the phone replaced, but then I'll most likely be looking at a refurbished replacement. Any advice would be appreciated for this new forum user. Thanks. Last edited by KLevitsky; 11-13-2006 at 11:06 AM. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Have you done anything different, like turned on the bluetooth radio? Or maybe installed a program that is running in the background when your phone is asleep?

![]() ![]() | there's been a few posts from members saying that their phones have had battery drain while searching for a network and they have been on verizon and sprint carriers. forgot's right, look for something running in the background. it's gotta be something like that and i've only seen reports on a cdma carrier. |

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | How do I check if something is running in the background? Bluetooth is off and I haven't moved, i.e. I should be seeing the same network I have for the past year, both at work and at home. I've had to re-install TomTom recently, but that's the only app I can think of that's new and/or changed. |

![]() ![]() | there should be some type of icon near the signal meter that will show if the phone is trying to connect to the internet. see if there's some type of autoconnect setting. |

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | I've seen the two-headed arrow that I think means data traffic/connection, but I haven't seen it in a long time. It used to come on after I would send picture messages. On my status bar, I have the words "Verizon Wireless", the little crosshair symbol with waves coming out of it (I think this is some sort of GPS 911 thing), then the grayed out Bluetooth, then an antenta with 4 bars and no arrows over the bars and finnaly the battery indicator. Thanks for helping me figure this out. |

![]() ![]() | HI KLevitsky, Have a look at this post. It looks to me like your battery is operating correctly at least compared to my 700p (which I know drains a little quicker). I'd love to be able to go for 5 days on my phone with no charge but that last time I did that I was with a Nokia and the Treo 600 was but a gleam in Palm's eye. I you know anyone else with a Treo you could try a battery swap. The Seidio's are pretty good and mine definately carried 50% more than the standard cell. ~ Steph

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Thanks to everyone for trying to help. It's day 3 now on Seidio's first charge and it's still at 43%. Perhaps I overreacted, it dropped to ~60-50% very quickly, but is now keeping at that level. Hopefully after a couple of deep cycles it will be more accurate in correlating charge left with percent it displays. |

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | Hi, Recently my Treo 650 battery life is getting shorter, normally it can last for 3~5 days about 2 months ago. But now it could last for about 2 days. Tried to compare normal mobile phones battery when fully charged it measure about 4.0V (Samsung, Siemen and Mitsubishu mobile phone). However, Treo 650's battery measured only 3.6v for the original Treo and Saido' battery when fully charged. Thus, I just wondering why normal mobile phone Lithum Battry measured 4V when fully charged but Treo 650's Lithum battery measure only 3.6V only when fully charged. Can someone help verify this, or measure the Treo 650 battery see it also 3.6V also. Thanks Regards |
