![]() | Overdue update : My 650 worked fine for 3 or 4 days after that last post I made. Then the screen died again so I moved the SIM card back to the CU500 clamshell and put the 650 in the desk drawer where it remains today. My contract expires in another week and I've been sitting tight until then. I'll replace the 650 with a factory new phone -- aaandd I do believe it will be a Centro. I know I mentioned considering Blackjack but among other things I would miss the touch screen too much. The main requirements for me personally are light weight, touch screen and an OS that easy to operate on the move. During the months I had the 650 working I grew fond of the Palm OS even if it is old. The Centro has a lot of strengths and the price is certainly right. This is an outstanding forum. I've been on many of them from guitars to cars to home improvement and you guys are tops. Thanks all for the tips and advice. Best regards, Matt |

![]() | You'll love the Centro! I may be wrong but even though the screen is busted you should still be able to transfer your data over as long as your 650 still hotsyncs. Good luck! ![]() |

![]() | Thanks.. my Centro is on order as of last night. Should be here by the weekend. Looking forward to it. I went back and forth a bit over the 3G question but 3G isnt even available in our rural area if my CU500 is any indication. It stays toggled on Edge nearly all the time.. even in parts of San Antonio. I would guess that coverage will improve over time, which is why I strongly considered a 3G phone given the fresh 2 year commitment I made. But for now the Centro has the most strengths in some key areas for me. I can stay with the Palm OS which I was already hooked on and even if it is "aged" as they say -- it's a strong software design that has stood the test of time. I'm happy with the choice.. & looking forward to talking with all you folks here at Treonauts. Cheers, Matt Last edited by mh1; 08-29-2008 at 05:47 AM. |
