![]() | TREO 650 LCD smashed and sync button wont work Before all, hello everyone, nice to be here. I was searching through the net about my problem and I found a thread here (really old thread) about someone who his TREO 650 LCD got smashed and couldnt see anything from the screen. I read carefully through the end and finally this person installed a new version of the palm desktop and followed the instruction of a given link to PALM OS (which by the way is broken now) so finally he solve his trouble. I have the same problem and I have tried to resintall a new version of the palm desktop and tried to Sync by pressing the black button in the cable but I get nothing. I jset get some info exchange between my laptop and the TREO 650 (yes, there is conection between both devices) but my contact table (which is the only thing Im really interesting in) doesnt update at all. My treo have the pasword and the touchscreen works eventhough you can not see anything so by intution I know were some virtual key in the screen are so I introduce the password, press the virtual enter and and press the sync button on the cable and I get the sound when sync starts and ends but I dont get my contact info updated ![]() COuld anyone help me???? is there any software besides this one to get info from your treo???? sincerely, RG |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Why dont you replace the screen, then you can see exactly what you're doing. I would also try a soft reset. That might help

![]() ![]() | welcome rgs to treonauts. I would suggest that you follow LL's advice. You should be able to get the treo back up and running in the real world. |

thanks in advance... There should be a a way to get into the treo system and get my contacts info via cable. I dont believe that for treo is impossible to do that otherwise I wont think is worthy (and I have this one for 2 years plus even I have to learn how to go around the BLANK screen without resetting the system, it was real annoying until I found the solution) | |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm suggesting a soft reset, because perhaps there is a software conflict preventing the sync. Another option would be to install a backup application then you could backup the entire contents of the device, though that would be admittedly difficult without being able to see the screen. I didn't realize you had it insured. I assumed that considering the age of the device you'd just replace the screen your self. (it's likely cheaper than your deductable to replace the screen)

![]() | thank you m8 I will try both of your suggestion when I get home. My treo is insure by the same carrier who sold me the phone and the cell line(Im in Venezuela) The day I bought it the carrier told me that for a small monthly fee on my service plan, my device would be 100% insure (no deductable) So I call them today and they said they will change my equipment but I have to leave the old one... thank you again, RG |
