I want an upgrade.?.

ok, here is my issue... i currently have a Treo 650 on a Palm OS with Cellular South which is CDMA system. my 650 generally reboots about 1 or 2 times a week randomly, my BlueTooth is non-existant, no WiFi, and my volume control doesn't really get loud. i have heard that all of these issues have been fixed with the 700 series of the Palm but since i have a local carrier (CDMA) they aren't offering any Palm smart phones. i love the plan i have with my carrier but i want a newer Palm... can i get an unlocked CDMA phone and it work with my carrier or is there a better option? please help because there are certain programs i have purchased for my 650 that i really like and would like to retain those programs or re-purchase for a Windows based Palm SmartPhone. any help would be greatly appreciated...

Unlocked cdma treos , dont exist . Depending where you're located It's might best for you to switch carriers . Gsm is, a different story . Depending where in the south you're based . Verizon might a best bet .

Unfortunately CDMA carriers typically don't allow devices from other carriers to be added to their network, but it might be worth a try. Give them a call and ask if you purchased a device if they'd be willing to activate it.

In the process of selling my 650s. It hurts but at least they'll be getting used.

well i'm in Northeast Mississippi area. Verizon doesn't work well around here and like i said i really like my unlimited plan i have because it is alot easier to know exactly what my bill is going to be every month. i have asked at a couple of the Cellular South stores about them activating a CDMA phone that didn't come from their store and never get a straight answer from anyone there. honestly i can't afford to buy a newer Treo to chance it working and i have alot of information on my phone that i would need to know 100% it would work. i really appreciate the responses and all the good information. keep me in mind if you come across anything.

thanks,

They wont activate a phone that came from a different network . Nothing works too well down there . Except sprint and AT&T. As far as plans go , cant help you out on that . But I ran 650 myself then gone to to 680 , have not had any extreme issues with it ,yet .
