Ok gang....I did another hard reset and loaded nothing else. The phone worked fine for the 2-3 calls i made.

I let it sit and as always after about an hour in sleep mode I woke up the phone only to have it reboot as usual.

Here is the error message:

../AT Cmds/Seriall O.C, LINE:609, Ccp Data Send
return error=0x0001 (FW crash?)

Device Status:sleep
Radio:ON
Background:NO

HELP I'm at my witt's end

Well I just Googled the error I had......I see it was the basis for the class action lawsuit with Palm. Oh well the rest of the PDA function work well and it makes a great looking paper weight too.

Lesson learned: research deeper before you buy.

Yup... 1.2 for Rogers

Everything on the PDA side works great. Only the phone side of things has problems. Somebody told me to replace the SIM card. I called Rogers about it because its $25.00..they said that since the phone sends/receives and stores info that they believe its a software issue.

Hmmmm....

I myself have never had this problem.
I also have the update from Rogers.

Not sure what to suggest other then replace the SIM card.

Well as a final resort I bought a new sim card for it. Just in the waiting period now to see if it'll reboot on me when it comes out of sleep mode or ?I get a call. I bet the guide at Rogers thot I was nuts for laying down $25.00 on a new SIM....if it doesn't solve this problem I can always use it in another type of PDA.

wait, wait, wait. you got charged for a new sim? cingular/at&t has never charged me anything for a new sim and i've gotten at least five in the past three years. or is that an average number? anyway, if it's a problem with the phone the provider should pick up the tab to make it right. 'should' is the operative word, i guess.

Ha I had a Motorolla C-phone through Rogers that just died after charging on night. I took it in to the local outlet. The manage there said she'd never seen such a clean unblemished phone. It had 3 days left on the one year warrantee. Motorolla claimed I dropped it and bent the internal circuit board! There wasn't a mark on the casing, but do you think common sense had anything to do with the repair! They told me it would be $300 to fix the phone.....no more motorolla junk.

Rogers did give me a replacement phone for $30.00 just because I'd been with them for 20 YEARS!!!! How nice of them.

Nothing is free north of the boarder..no competition!
