 | New a new good ROM Can anyone email me a good working ROM with no problems for my Treo 650. One that's been hacked to remove the typical problems of the phone locking up, rebooting, shutting off when screen fades. Yes I've tried the hard/soft with and without all software removed from the Palm. This is my last attempt to fix this thing. If this doesn't work I'll chuck it and buy something other than a Palm....shame I love the rest of the PDA functions. Frustrated  |

| Good luck beaner we hope you decide to stick with the treo. Upgrading to a newer treo would probably help. |

| Comments on the 750? I see some of you have the 750 with the Windows software....If I upgraded I think I would like the Windows OS over Palm given all the problems I've experienced with this 650......any thoughts? I'm with Rogers. Beaner1717 |

| A good amount of the Mods here have gone from Palm OS to Windows Mobile its true, but it all depends on what software you use and how comfortable you are with switching around. It's not unlike changing computer operating systems, in that it can take a few days to figure out exactly where all the settings are.

| The hacked ROM's are just the same as the normal ones except they have some of the programs removed and an updated FAT driver which supports the larger SD cards. As far as stability is concerned they shouldn't be any better. I didn't really have any crashing/lock-up problems with my 650 but then I used to run most apps from the SD card so as to maximize the available memory. If you don't do this already then I would suggest giving it a try. PowerRun is good for moving apps from the Treo's memory onto the SD card
