![]() | Will VolumeCare amp up the speaker hiss too? My 650 ear speaker has background hiss all the time. I just live with it. It gets louder with volume. If I install volumecare will that just amp up the hiss even more along with the increased volume - or does it also filter out that kind of noise? I'd like to do something to minimize the hiss - if possible. Others say I sound fine to them on a call. Thanks for passing on any knowledge and/or experience with this. |

![]() ![]() | Unsure about an answer to that never used VC while I had the treo 650 Maybe the noise is just on your end and its the speaker. |

![]() | thanks, jfa02. Ya, I kinda think it's the speaker itself and likely will just be so. I can live with it. But, man do I love having a Treo. Trying to figure out how to get a 680 but not sure if those are really any better over all since I don't really need more apps than I have, or wifi. Had wifi on my TX and found it not very satisfying. |

![]() ![]() | The hardest parts probably waiting to get the parts if you order them on line Getting the case open takes a little time but not a difficult deal. I replaced antennas after a nose dive several times cracked the antenna at the screw holding it in. |

![]() | I use Volumecare on a 650. It would only boost the hiss/volume. So your problem is in the phone. I don't think your speaker is the problem. Speakers don't just hiss by themselves. They need a signal. So it looks to me like it might be the internal amp or a wire problem in the phone. Maybe even some of the RF shielding has been messed up? Sorry I don't have more of a guess as to what might be causing the hiss. I am not a electronics repair wiz. I deal with much larger Audio components, ie: Music/Theatre Audio PA's. Still it's the same principle just on a much much smaller scale. You might have to take it to a repair guy to get that fixed. Good luck and hope you can figure it out. |
