Help Please! New Treo 650 Flashed To Cricket

I cant get it going! I got a treo 650 on ebay (lol) flashed over (from what I don't know, but it seems to be a GMS flashed phone? No sim card of course) I know cricket is CDMA but the phone says cricket on it now, I called the guy, who sent me a phone with a usb cable and charger only, and let him know that around here cricket assigns two number (phone numbers) to each phone, MIN and MDN are different, He insisted that all I have to do is *228 the phone (after paying cricket the $15 to do an esn switch) Well, needless to say IM SOL! Unable to program phone, please blah blah.....Now I have no phone!

Please advise!
Thanks,
NEWBIE LOL AKA Brian

Is there a slot on the top of the Treo with a cover?

Like the one in the back of this picture.

If so it's a GSM phone and therefore incompatible with Cricket's network.

Welcome to Treonauts by the way! Sorry it's on such sad terms.

A couple of questions:
1)What in the world is "cricket"?
2)What is a "gms flashed phone"?

Thank you, signed: confused

Cricket is a CDMA cell provider.
The OP meant GSM I believe.

Doesn't look like they're coming back though.

I really enjoy reading this thread! Not so much for what I understand, but for what I don't! lol I hope Swoletan hasn't gone fishing! Give us more! Ok, I now understand that Cricket is a company (service provider), but Swoletan says the that the phone is GSM (I think) flashed: this I don't know what it is. I guess by this they mean it's a GSM phone? Swoletan also seems to understand that his company is CDMA, but nevertheless bought a GSM? I wonder what MIN and MDN is??? What is SOL??? I just loved the "please blah blah....Now I have no phone!"!!! LOLOLOLOL This post was hilarious! I hope they come back...

Ok

Cricket is a provider.
If you have a cricket flashed treo you need the SPC code to program it. With verizon it is goin to be all 000000. If its sprint you need the SPC. If it was flashed you can dial *228 and all it will say is welcome to cricket. but it can not program. After you get that message you have to manual program your min and mdn then the talk and text will work. internet has to be manuel configured.

Tre0 650

[PROGRAM YOUR TREO 650 PHONE

CALL CRICKET to add the ESN try *22804 send, it may program without the need of a manual programming if it does not then follow the steps below
##000000# PHONE will automatically take you to a screen that allows you to enter your mobile number (cell number), your MIN (CALL CRICKET TO GET THIS). CHOOSE EDIT TO ENTER THE INFORMATION. Save when you are done. Your phone should now be able to make and receive calls as well as text messages.

IF THE PHONE was originally a verizon you will do #*#000000#

Welcome q6wireless and ndnygaard! I think that the OP got a GSM 650 which won't work on the CDMA Cricket network.
