![]() | Unlock calendar app for beaming? Ok, I am a goof when it comes to certain technical stuff Now being a Treo 650 user I want beam the TX (recently gave it to my husband) calendar directly to my Treo because the hotsync won't work for some reason (another issue to be addressed later). Can I unlock the calendar app so it will beam? And why are certain apps locked anyway? Thanks for any enlightenment on this issue. I hope this isn't what you mean by a "crack" -- if it is, please tell me and I will rescind this post as I don't intend to do that - altho' not entirely sure what a "crack" is. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to sync it some how. What is the problem with hotsync though?

![]() | Well I had directly hotsynced the 650 off the TX desktop and all was working fine then I got worried it could be detrimental and was told in this forum that could be bad, so I found a 'bittorrent' Cingular 650 install CD online and downloaded it, hard reset my 650 and but that install won't load- get an "error 1316. A network error occured while attemt to read from the file C:\WINDOWS\Installer\PalmOne.msi" then the installer retracts itself. Plus the hotsync says "The selected port COM1 is not available at this time. Hotsync manager will open the port when it is available." I searched the forum for this kind of problem, tried to go in and change the port but it only lists COM5 and COM6. Sigh. I had taken out some files from PalmBak containing the calendar and contacts (no way to recreate so many entries) and put it on the desktop to hopefully fill in after the 650 installation. I think I messed everything up. So you see, it's complicated. I have an actual CD on its way thru ebay. But don't know if is Cingular specific. Should I just wait for that and see? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You can wait that's fine. It's suggested to install the newest version of Palm Desktop and not sync applications, only PIM data (callendar, contacts). The worry is incompatibility between the newer Treo and the older TX apps.

![]() | thanks!!! Will the ability to only install PIM data and leave out the applications as you suggested be an obvious choice during installation? |

![]() ![]() | Well I am now in the wm camp myself and its been a while but the problems may have reulted from the hot sync of the t/x desktop to the 650. Yiou need to download the 650 Palm Desktop software from palm.com or find a 650 install disk for cingular or ATT try ebay maybe Thats where I got mine. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | All you Palm OS turncoats! LOL I still use Palm OS and hotsynced my PIM data from my T/X, (and that was only in October), but I couldn't tell you how I did it now. Let us know if you can't figure it out, deniseellen, and we'll try to work through it together. Its something I need to learn. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | That should work. I was referring to the hotsync method. But IR or Bluetooth for that matter should work. |
