Hi all,
Been reading posts and finding answers to my questions since I got my treo 650 3 years ago, but this is my first post. So thanks for all the help. My questions are directed to those of you that have used the 650, the centro and a windows version.
I would love to upgrade, but I want to stay with palm os - I don't want windows! Or should I get over it? Since I'm with ATT, my only choice is a Centro. I don't believe its 3G, so will i notice a faster browser? Also, can I use my chargers, hot sync cables from the 650?
Any guidance is appreciated.

The Centro is a 3G phone. However, since AT&T is GSM and just recently started upgrading their system to 3G, I'm not sure if the AT&T Centro is capable of using their new system. On the other hand, given that it was just released for AT&T one would assume that it is, but sometimes with Palm that is a big assumption. As far as chargers, Palm says not to use older chargers. However, I was using my T/X charger with my 755p and my daughter's Centro interchangably and never had a problem.

The Centro is not 3G on At&t's network. It will be somewhat faster than your 650 though, at least if Blazer on the 680 is any indication. The 680 is another Palm OS option for you by the way.

While Palm may not recommend it, little has changed in terms of chargers and sync cables since the 650. I use the cables from my 650 and my 750 interchangably with no problems, except my 650 dock doesn't work to sync my 750.

The Centro is now available in black on at&t now too!

Thanks & hi back. At least I know I won't have to purchase new accessories since I have chargers at home, work and one always in my carry on travel bag.

I was also very pleased to see the email from treonauts, "an apple in your palm" this morning, which leads me to believe that I won't ever need windows!!

welcome to treonauts luvmytreo. Att has made the edge network faster so it closer to 3g than it was before. Supposedly in response to the iphone not being 3G on release although thats fixing to change. I would go with the centro if you want mto stay with palm os and wait on the new palmos next year. The centro is a pretty small investment as compared with the 750 when it came out. Good to have you here.
