47619 will become famous soon enough
soft reset: remove the battery or push the reset button

if that doesn't work hold the power/end key while removing and replacing the bettery keep holding the button until you get to the Palm Powered screen then when you see a message hit the up button.

If that doesn't work get another SIM card.

Yeah you can try a new sim. Another good question is do you have any third party software installed?

If it's a 3rd party program you can find out which one by pressing * and then a number.
Sorry, but I have forgotten how to do this.
Supposedly the phone would tell you which program caused the last crash.
Sheesh can't even remember if the * key was involved.
Shoot wished I could remember how to do that there has been a few times I could of used it.

Sorry I don't have more info, maybe someone else remembers the key combination?

Crud, you're referring to #377#. Unfortunately though, that only tells you which app was running in the foreground when the crash occurred. Since most cashes occur due to background apps or preferences that conflict, it is only marginally useful. That's why I recommend SafeGuard as it gives you information on both the foreground and bacground apps and tells you what the likelihood of a particular app causing a crash is.

stuartrayner, that was one of the best product endorsements I've ever heard. So many things I must get. This sounds like one of the most useful.

Yeah, Stu really is the champion of SafeGuard. Makes me wonder if he's really on the take. jk

I was a beta tester for the product and quickly became a convert. I did get SafeGuard for free after beta testing, but I was a very active beta tester and wrote many emails and bug reports. Believe me, I earned it. In hindsight, it would've been cheaper for me to just purchase the product. Just to show I endorse other products though, I also like Teal Scan, Palm Internals, and DBFixit for system utility apps.
