Recognize Tom Tom Maps on SD Card - Treo Forum

I have an SD Card with "Tom Tom Navigator 6" as well as "Backup" on it. I'm planning a trip from Canada to NY State. I have axcess to Canadian maps but when I try to use the switch maps function in navigator and I choose NY and the software says this product requires activation. How do I want to activate..Manual or Automatic. Then it need to go to the WEB and I need a code which I don't have because this phone came with the software on a non original SD Card.

Do I have to buy TTN6 to solve this?

Best bet, call tomtom they'll give you your access code if the product was genuine and then you can ask them about registering as the rightful owner so in the future if you move to another handset you can transfer the license file (by calling them again).

It could be the package you bought only includes canadian maps (I doubt it).

You might need your product serial number if you call them unless it present an activation code to give them.

Alternatively go automatic but run the risk of getting locked out if the product was dodgy.

It shouldn't matter if the card is genuine, I run mine off a 8GB sdhc card just fine.

Do you have the manuals and/or CD/DVD for TomTom?

I don't have the original CD of either the Palm or TTN6 as it was purchased used on EBay with the software already loaded. It was one of 5 or 6 used by a business that went to Blackberrys

I would think you would need that stuff.
Probably not transferable license seeing how it was a business.
You might be out of luck here.
