MP3 to ringtones - Treo Forum

hello

ive had my treo 650 for a few days now and i have realplayer installed on it, along with music.

Most phones now-a-days (non smart) allows you to make your mp3's into ringtones with just a few clicks,

i havent been able to figure out how to do this with my mp3's i searched the forums and didnt really find anything

so if any of the other treo 650 people could help with this one, that would be great!!

i found it and got it on my palm... after doing 2 songs it freezes up with the "saving.... please wait" screen. = (

patch for this?

I can't remember exactly, but there seems to be an issue depending on the bit rate for the song you are trying to trim. Are the songs ripped or downloaded?

I had an issue with songs that I ripped but was easy when using songs I downloaded. Search the forums for minitones and you will find it there.

Try to make your songs constant bit rate... cbr instead of vbr... my recollection is that vbr can cause problems with low power processors.

You can always try a few other free mp3 ringtone solutions, most work fine but offer less in the way of features (ringtones per contact etc) than paid for versions.

how do you set ringtones for specific people calling?

lol treo's are smarter then me

I haven't seen it in a free app but you can with the paid for apps..

Have a browse of the ringtone software here. RingoPro is the best selling but $30 is a little high for my taste. There's cheaper ones down the list with less features.
