![]() | Phone causes reset - error message I dunno what I did - the phone was working - I could turn it off and off. I then wanted to update my ROM version and I think I managed to mess up the installation (caused endless resets). I got it restored back so I could still use the pda portion of my treo, but now the phone causes it to reset when I go to turn it on. I did a #*#377# to check the error log and this is what I get. A reset was caused on <DATE and TIME> while running "<unknown application>": HTCStateTelephonyHandler.cpp, Line:429, HCI Interface versions do not match - 26 instead of 30. I tried to re-install the old ROM version, but still cannot get the phone to turn on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

![]() ![]() | I am not sure how you can do it but you need to get into the regedit equivalent of palm os and change the HCI interface version to 30 it sounds like. I have the 750 now so I'm not as familiar with palm os as I used to be and I am not a techno guy. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | PrarieBoy, Welcome to Treonauts. I can't help you with the whole customized ROM thingie. There are obviously some inherent risks when customizing ROM. I just hope you are able to get full functionality restored. Hopefully someone who has more experience in this area can help. Nonetheless, I just wanted to welcome you to Treonauts. Stu |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sounds less like a custom ROM, and more like a ROM upgrade run afoul. Did anything happen while you were installing the ROM? Have you tried reinstalling the upgrade ROM you were trying to install in the first place? Do a hard reset, then give it a try and let us know what happens.

![]() ![]() | Welcome prairieboy, shame it's under stressful circumstances. Any error messages pop up when you did the update? Stupid question: Did you apply the right patch? Both for your phone and carrier? ~ Steph

![]() | After I updated the ROM, the phone went into endless restarts, so I had to hard reset it. Now everytime I try and push the factory ROM back on through the installer, it fails when trying to sync (backup part). So now I am using the ROM tool and the extracted ROM and push that back onto the phone. I replaced the HTC Telephony.prc file last nite with the factory one thinking that might do it, but in the end, I am still faced with the reset. I am kinda wondering about the 26 instead of 30 thing. When I check my phone info, a bunch of information is missing like: Phone Number: Username: ESN: Software: Treo650-1.04CDMA Hardware: B HSSN: PTGC666... (there is a number in here) PRL Rev: PRI Checksum: I wonder if that's what is causing the 26 instead of 30 thing? Anyone know of a way to enter these numbers back into the phone? |
