![]() | TT5 in Treo 650 Hi all, I have loaded tomtom nav 5 in my treo 650 and works well. I am not using a carrier yet and the phone likes to switch on when I go into tt5 mode. Is there a way to stop this, seems to be shortening my battery like which seems unnecessary as I wont be receiving any calls. Many thanks for any help. |

![]() ![]() | the reason your phone switches on is because there's some parts of tomtom that require an open cellular signal. there's a program within tt5 that offers to update your weather, route, etc but the apps need that open connection. afaik there is no way to disable it, i'm using tt6 and i leave my phone on all the time when using it. try contacting tt support and see if they can help you. welcome to the forum! |

![]() | Thank you for that, I used the tech contact emailer on tomtom's web-site many weeks ago asking them for help, their not too quick to answer. Is there and email address that works faster or a phone number you could recommend? I find the tomtom nav 5 works just fine without this connection and find it strange that there isn't an option to not have it connect. It's just a waste of battery life. Question: Using Nav 6, is there an option not to connect? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | A lot of phones have the cellular and bluetooth radios tied together so turning one off also turns of the other, for this reason TomTom automatically tries to enable the cellular radio if it detects that it is off. TT6 works in the same way.

![]() | Not acceptable. It should be an option in the Tomtom menu, especially if it can't tell the difference between cellular and bluetooth. Anyway, I've seen a thread somewhere talking about this and had a solution, can't remember where I saw it, still looking. |
