No power after new screen

I have replaced a screen and now I have no power.

I have followed the video but maybe I am missing something, so here is what I did:
Disassembled the phone and released both cable connectors (screen and keyboard)
Removed the ESN board (i think is the name)
- did this by accident, saw two screws and pulled them.
- I reinstalled it as I took it off i believe, aligned the connector and screwed down the two screws

Replaced the screen and reattached the cable
Reattached the cable for the keyboard
Clipped the case back on
Screwed the screws back in
installed the battery
and nothing...

I wonder I am missing something completely or if the cables are not connected properly (although I have tried this 5 or 6 times now).

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Last question if the keyboard is not conncected will the phone act as if it has no power?

Thanks!

Matt

Will it take a charge? I know it sounds like a stupid question, but it can help us get an idea of what else might be wrong.

Welcome mbrown67, sorry it' sunder such rubbish circumstances.

I'm not sure if the power will power up without the kb attached, I don't think it has a bridge and system bus in the same way as a PC does so it's probably wise to hook up the kb then try the batts out.

You should be able to do this without having to out the whole phone back together.

Just been watching the video, when you reconnected the screen to the base, did you press the connector shut on the base part?(hope you understand what i mean).

Wow, thanks for the quick responses!

I do have another 650, I have tried the motherboard and keyboard from that 650 and still no luck. I have looked at the setup prior to disassembling the unit and believe I have it together correctly.

Did my breakdown of the procedure look correct?

I will try the reset button when I get home. Currently when I plug in my charger i still have nothing, no lights.

Thanks for the help so far. I guess as a last resort is there any one on the board that repairs Treos?
- Matt

Kimmy,

do you mean the little "flip-up" clips that hold the cable to the main board? If so, yea I have clipped them down.

There used to be someone on the Treocentral forum who did Treo repairs but it appears they have stopped doing them now
