![]() | Touch Screen Issue Hi, I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. I'm having an issue with my touch screen. it seems to respond whenever it feels like it. At first there was no responce at all (just happened out of the blue). Then it would respond to touches with the stylus but not where I tapped. I tried to recallibrate it but I hit that bullseye for about 7 minutes (and only appeares in the top left, center, and lower right sides. did this about 5 times already). The I get a successful message, but can't tap the done button to exit out Now it seems to work for a little while (meaning like 3 successful taps before going all crazy on me again.Has anyone else had this issue? I tried searching the forums for these symptoms but have not seen any. can this be fixed, or should I call a Priest and have him preform an execorsim on my beloved 650 Thanks for the help in advance Dave |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Have you tried a soft reset? Have you installed any software recently? First, try a soft reset. If that doesn't help, sync, and then try a hard reset. That will eliminate software problems.

![]() | I did a soft reset as well (sorry for omiting that before) but no joy. I was debating on doing a hard reset (I have already backed up my pics to my SD). The only new software I have installed was lightwav, but this was at least 2 months ago, though my treo had begun to act funny since then (ie lockups, resets ect) Maybe I'll just try the hard reset. I see if I can find the instructions online (at work now and don't have the manuel ) |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | To hard reset, Press the reset button and hold the Red power button, until the palm screen comes up, then release the power button and press up on the nav pad. to confirm delete. It will delete all installed apps, and your emails, contacts, text messages, etc.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Have you put a screen protector on your Treo? IF the protector pinches in the corners, the screen may think that it is being pressed. Thus, rendering your screen useless. IF this is the case, then take off and readjust the screen protector. |

![]() | No I dont have a screen protector on. though the upper left of the face plate is cracked and has some loose plastic that I pulled off under it. I did the hard reset and when i had to calibrate the stylus, it made me do it about 10 times (tapping 3 times each in the left right center of the screen). This at least got me to be able to work with the touch screen MUCH better then before, but it was still off (I click on memo and calc would pop up...always seemed to be 1 level off) so I went to prefs and touch screen and did the calibration again, this time for almost 10 minutes...now it's way off. Please don't tell me the touch screen is hosed. Phone works fine and I can operat everything with the directional pad and buttons...just not the stylus. Can it be maybe because of that crack stuff got all clrapped up in there...like the issue with the screen protector that was mentioned earlier? |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Could be that something is still in there. Check around the screen and make sure that all the debris is clean out. Sometimes when I get dirt and grime I use my oakley glass bag to clean it out. Carefully I pinch a section of the bag and go around the edge until I get get the debris out. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Since the phone is no longer covered under warranty, open it up and carefully clean around the screen. Then attempt to calibrate before reassembling.
