Treo 650 in a reset loop - Treo Forum

Wednesday at 3:30 p.m my treo went into a reset loop. Would turn off and on then try to start the phone, then reset.

This would continue till I did a warm reset. (take out battery, hold the up button while inserting the battery till the treo showed the network screen)

I later did a hard reset after backing up my data. I also have BackupMan.
But to no avail. It was still in a reset mode.

I called my carrier, Alltel. They are sending me a new phone.

My old one was still under warranty.

I don't know what caused it. I did download mvoice as a trial over a week ago and the trial ended a few days ago. I downloaded Diddlebug at the same time.

I will keep you posted how the new treo works out.

Hi Medicineman. After you did a HR, the Treo was in loop even before you had any software reinstalled? Or did you just restore a previous backup sesion?

I'm just saying... because if your problem was software, your new (congrats!) Treo will loop too. I certainly hope NOT.

Thanks for responding AlexFreire. After the Hard Reset, with no backup, the phone kept reseting. I left it that way for a while. Then decided to restore so I could use some of my applications. What can I say, I'm addicted to my Treo. I use several applications several times a day. I am having phone, email and web withdrawls.

My new Treo came in the mail today. I put my battery in and NO RESET!

Then I backed up my data from my card and everything is working fine. Had to activate the phone. I am thrilled!

I'll let you know in approximately one week on how things have progressed.

Woohoo... glad it worked out for you. It's werid the number of users that report failures like this. I wonder what bit of hardware failed inside your previous Treo...

I'm back, and my new phone is working out great. It hasn't reset once! I have a lot of third party applications too. I am so pleased. Just had to share.

I say the bootloader was corrupted or it was the disk-on-chip

Glad to hear you're back up and running. I'm glad you did share and update us as it seems too many will post their issues, but never post if they have been resolved or not.
