Hot Sync On Endless Loop - Treo Forum

On My Pc, Hot Sync Has Went Into An Endless Loop Of Saying Syncronizing Media, It Cancels On My Treo And Cleans Up And Restarts, My Pc However Will Be Looped On This Sycronizing Media Until I Ctr-alt-delete It! I Dont Know What To Do, I Did A Hard Reset On The Phone And Lost Everything, I Tried Backing It Up But Then Lost All Of My Information, As Well As Screwing Bluetooth Settings Up, Help Anyone....

sounds like some type of file corruption. back up the palm folder on your pc, uninstall the palm desktop, restart and reinstall. do a zero reset on your 650, outlined here. reinstall each program singly until you find the offending application. that's the brute force method and it takes a while, but i guarantee it'll work.

how do i back up my palm in the folder on the pc?

normally you'd find it in under program files/palmone/*your username*/backup. copy that and move it to another folder out of the palmone folder.

now i've really screwed it up, after attempting this reset for 20 mins, finally thinking i got it to work, it resets over and over gain

ive done the Zero reset, I think ? Anyways, bluetooth is still screwed, as well as the loop. I followed your directions, thanks for the help. I was on the verge of buying a 680, but decided to spend $50 on getting new housing as well as a new carrier for this 650, now i feel that i have really screwed it up, and basically threw away 60 bucks! Anyone that has any ideas, i appreciate them.

I think you'll have to do a hard reset unfortunately.

well despite the problems I've been having for the past three days, I finally figured it out. i don't know what I did, but everything seems to be working fine, thanks to all of you who have helped...
