restore SMS messages from Treo 600

Hello,
I'm trying to get all my SMS messages from my Treo 600 into my Treo 650, but I can't find a way.
I've tried importing the SMS_Msg_Database file, but that didn't work.

Does anybody know how to do this?

Have you got a back-up folder of your old treo 600 apps? because you could simply double click on each of the sms messages in the back-up folder and they should reinstall.

Hi Kimmy,

I'm having the same problem as TimW albeit with the Treo 680.
I tried to double click on the messages one by one (the ones called SMS_133671687XXXXX.PDB)
When I do this it shows the quick install as expected, they are listed there as expected, when I hotsync I see them getting installed as expected.
unfortunately when all is done I cannot see them in my phone.

Any additional trick??

This is sort of related but I was contacted by a member here xorandor who has nearly finished some software which allows you to back up your SMS messages on a Mac...

I'm an indie Mac developer about to release my first product, FunkeeStory. FunkeeStory is an application and conduit that runs on Mac OS X that backs up a Treo's SMS database. You may find my preliminary website at: http://www.funkeemonk.com/ .

I'm now wrapping up the final portions of development (setting up the payment/registration systems, anti-piracy measures, application logo, etc etc), and should be able to release soon, *hopefully* before Christmas.

Hopefully this might help you, if you're on OSX... drop him a line. Hopefully he'll post a little intro here if he hasn't already done so..

I have pretty much the same problem. My SMS messages all disappeared during hotsync. I attempted to restore them in the same manner as Merci-bien describes above with the same results: it acts like it's restoring them, but, alas, they're still not there.

All the messages are still in the hotsync backup, fortunately. How do I get them restored to my phone?

Search for Treodesktop on google.
In a few days I will release the new version that will able you to import data from the backed-up database, then rebuild a valid messages_database ready to be synced on your Treo.
