Need to destroy memory on dead treo - Treo Forum

My Treo up and died while sitting in the cradle...dead as a brick. Insurance is sending a new one but I don't want to ship mine back with all of my personal info. I want to open it up and take out the memory chip but which one is it.

you might void your warranty by opening the case and removing any component. i'd leave it alone were i you.

The memory is soldered to the board, you won't be able to remove it unless you desolder it, which would of course void any warranty as Brandon has stated
