| A Few Questions.... ![]() | playing asf video files I'ved tried downloading various video files to my secure disk and playing in the media application. After I download the file (usually mp4 or .mov files) and transfer them to the "send to handheld" icon they get converted to an asf file and are transferred to the disk when I sync. I then to go to the media application and they do not show up so there is nothing I can click on to watch the file. I know they are on the disk as in asf format because the capacity of the disk changes by the size of the file that was downloaded. the only was I can delete this file is by going to my pocket tunes application and clicking on the disk icon and it shows up there then gives me the option to delete which I do. How can I get "media" to "see" the file and list it (by the way, I looked everywhere in media (unfiled, albums, etc) and it doesn't appear anywhere |

![]() ![]() | i've had this same problem myself. using the free version of tcpmp will allow you to play just about any type of media on your treo or sd card. sometimes you just need a 3rd party media player to play the files, don't ask me why. |

![]() ![]() | With TCPMP you also have the option to only install the codec you know you're going to need. That should save you some space too...it's pretty lightweight app for what it does (and does well!). ~ Steph

| A Few Questions.... ![]() | tcpmp mp4 and deleting video files I downloaded tcpmp and all the plug-ins to my treo card and it worked great with an .asf file (.mov got converted to asf when I dragged the file to my "send to handheld" icon. Then I tried to send an mp4 file directly to the card via a card reader and it worked however when I tried to play it it said that I didn't have the codec. I thought mp4 and mpeg-4 were the same but I guess not. Also, how do you delete a file in tcpmp? I couldn't find any method to do this and when I tried deleting using the palm drop down menu, it didn't show up on the card listing but I know the file is there because I played it (asf file). |
