treo 650 won't take SIM card - Treo Forum

I purchased a used Treo 650 on e-bay after mine was stolen. When I put in my SIM card (it's a Cingular branded phone and a Cingular SIM) I get an error message that says "This SIM card cannot be used with this phone." I was told by someone that I need to get the phone unlocked and that Cingular will provide the unlock code. After a week of phone calls to customer service and several store visits, I have gotten nowhere. Cingular tells me they won't support the phone since I bought it used (don't they make their money off the service anyway?) And today their customer support tech dept. told me that the phone is an from the old AT&T network and that there's nothing I can do to get it to work. Does this make sense to anyone? The person I purchased the phone from said it worked on Cingular when he had it. I'm so frustrated!!!

You might want to go to a store and see if they'll give you a new SIM.
