![]() | On Friday I received 2 text messages. When I tried to open them, my phone reset. When it came back on I went to my message inbox and it was empty! All of the messages that were already there disappeared in addition to the new messages. The "new message" icon was still showing up saying that I had one new message but my inbox was empty. Also, evertyime I tried to either send a message or receive one, my phone resets. After spending a long time on the phone with Palm, their "solution" was to do a hard reset. The new message icon disappeared but my phone still resets every time a message is either sent or "received". I say "received" because I never actually get the message that causes the phone to reset. Palm told me that if the hard reset didn't fix the problem, which it didn't, I would need to replace my phone. I just can't believe that there isn't something that can be done short of replacing my phone. Unfortunately, if I have to replace it, I won't be able to get another Treo because I simply cannot afford one at this time. Simply stated, I AM ADDICTED TO MY TREO!!! I can't stand the thought of being without it. Since the hard reset, I have noticed other applications that cause my phone to reset as well but the only consistent one is text messaging. Does anyone know of anything I can do to fix this problem? |

![]() ![]() | Wow, I'm sorry to hear of your problems. I'll assume this is not a new 650 to you, i mean you've been using this 650 for awhile. IF that's not the case, and it's somehow still under warranty from Palm, then go with the Advance Exchange program from Palm Support. They'll ship you a refurb. 650 for a fee, you send back you troubled 650. This is probably not an option for you since you're addicted and probably a extended user. So then, did the messaging "ever" work right? If so, then something changed either on your phone OR like TazUK suggests at your carriers' servers. Either way take it up with your carrier on making sure your config is correct. Also if you've added ANY new apps that use the modem for web/data/online functionality, remove them and see if the resets go away on the other apps. Good luck and keep posting.

![]() | I talked to my carrier first and they referred me to Palm. It is definitely not a new 650. I've had it for about a year and a half. My messaging was working just fine until Friday. I did recently add a couple of new programs but, as far as I know, neither of them use the modem. Both are Hobbyist programs, Snoozy and, ironically, Reset Doctor. Could either of these be the culprit? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | To hell with the carrier help! Call Aurion, or whom ever is you insurance company, and tell them of your problem! They are usually very good on getting you a replacement phone. It may not be new, but hopufully you won't have that problem. |

![]() ![]() | Huh, Reset Doctor?? And your problem is your phone resets when to try to text message? I think this Doctor might need malpractice insurance and you might want a refund. At least delete the program and test your functionality. If things calm down then there's compatibility issues somewhere.
