Multiple issues w/ my VZ650

1st-My HotSynch errors out when trying to synch Memos & Tasks ONLY, the Calendar and Contacts synch fine. Yes, I've tried both PDT & MSO and while it synchs with MSO2003-it locks up when I try to synch with PDT. This became an issue because...

2nd-Earlier today (Wednesday in Seattle) my 650 locked up in the middle of a call and I had to hard boot it. When I tried to power on the phone I got the usual 'VZ screen & tone' and when it goes to the call screen, it shows 'Network Search' and stays stuck there with a red 'T' (looks like a christian cross) where the signal strength normally is. It stays stuck there... if I try to make a call it pops up with the 'Phone is off-Would you like to power it on?' message and we go back to the usual 'VZ screen & tone' and the whole thing goes over & over & over again...

3rd-Yes, I've hard booted and tried every trick I can think of. VZW wants to upgrade me to the 700wx, so I need to know if I can beam my memos & tasks to the new phone since it won't sych correctly (unless someone knows how to fix option #1).

So - any ideas? Thanks in advance!

1) Have you tried reinstalling the PDT? A file or setting somewhere might have been corrupted, so its worth looking into.

2) When you Hard reset your phone, did it work before you put the info back on it?

3) The PIM applications in both of these OS's are designed where you can beam information between them. Contacts, memos, tasks, ect. can all be sent from once device to another.

Same issue

Hi, I'm having the same issue(#2) and I was wondering how you resolved this. It happens sporadically. But has happened 3 or 4 times now. I have to hard reset then resync all data. Yesterday it took several hours of resting the 650 to fix itself.


Any ideas?

We never heard back from NavyStore (that post was from November '06) so we never found out if the problem was resolved. From re-reading the post it sounds like it could be a network issue. Have you talked with your provider about it?

I took the phone to my local Verizon store and they did a few hard resets(same thing I did at home). And that seems to have fixed it, but it happened one other time since then. I have a suspicion that it was an activation issue as I ran #*#377 and it told me there was an error tying to activate(or something to that effect). I activated an old phone then the 650 again and it seems to be working better. No hiccups yet.
